Created by Caleb Crisologo and Kiersten Filarca respectively, their Video Essays tackle the complexities of mass media, the designs of streaming algorithms, and the viewing habits of audiences. They hope to bring to light the exploitation of the media industry within and beyond streaming services, a renewed understanding of algorithmic operations, and the effects these have on consumers and streaming media as a whole.
Created by Francesca Ching, Arianna Roberto, Angelica Corpuz, Saniata Tabag and Tomas Arnalod respectively, their editorials tackle the consumerism of FOMO culture, the death of Cinema, the perceptions of relationships created by media and the escapist habits of audiences using streaming services, and the loss of creativity due to consumerism. They hope to bring to light the effects of streaming services on our perception and consumption of content, and how these hold sway on our views on real-life events and relationships.
