As a tutor for the Do Re Mi Project I am able to combine my passion for music and youth education by teaching elementary school musicians across the country. As a tutor with the Do Re Mi project I provide free, weekly Zoom lessons to aspiring saxophonists, in hopes of diversifying their education. I was also elected as one of five Community Outreach Coordinators for Massachusetts, and now have the resources and community behind me to bring two performances a month to cultural centers, senior homes, and elementary schools. I continue to use my positions at the Do Re Mi Project to bring smiles to all through the universal language of music.
After returning from remote learning, I joined my district's chapter of Tri-M Music Honors Society, to explore my passion for music. Now, as the Vice President, I am committed to bringing music, and with it, a diversified education to all youth in my district. Continuing this year will be our annual card-making drive for middle school musicians, in which each member of Tri-M personally writes a card to around a dozen middle school students, encouraging them to stay with music. Additionally, I look forward to managing and organizing another year of instrument step-up days, in which elementary students considering participating in music have the opportunity to try various instruments. I am also excited to continue to perform at local art shows (below) and schools throughout the Boston community. All of these programs are in an effort to bring smiles and a stronger, more diversified education to youth.

In the summer entering my sophomore year, I volunteered at SHED Children's Campus, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing quality education to all children. I chose to volunteer at SHED Children's Campus when I was made aware that they were understaffed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. In my time volunteering at SHED Children's Campus I founded an Engineering club, that allowed students from grades 3-8 to explore their interests in science and math. I had the opportunity to build boats, rocketships, wind up cars, and bows and arrows with them throughout the summer, and most importantly inspire curiosity. I was also able to organize a basketball program for students, to help them explore their passions for sports. My time volunteering at SHED Children's Campus was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life because I was able to actively promote a quality education for children in my own community.

In the spring of my junior year, I had the chance to continue to provide a quality education for youth in my community at the Andover Historical Society. After coordinating with the History and Social Science Director for my district, I was able to assist in the elementary school visits at the Andover Historical Society, that were centered around life in Andover in the 17th and 18th centuries. I had the unique opportunity to lead a few tours for elementary schoolers in the name of creating a stronger and more interactive education for Andover youth.
