In a world where sustainability is a pressing concern, The Home Depot, a Fortune 500 company, is committed to leading the way in environmentally conscious practices and solutions. We believe that as a significant player in the industry, we can set a precedent for businesses around the globe. The Home Depot's New Frontiers of Sustainability Competition is our way of promoting and supporting innovative sustainable architecture while showcasing our commitment to a greener future.

The primary goal of this competition is to encourage and celebrate the integration of sustainability and innovation in architecture. We aim to explore the possibilities of creating environmentally conscious structures that not only minimize their impact on the planet but also serve as a symbol of a sustainable and prosperous future. By participating in this competition, you'll have the chance to be at the forefront of a new era in architecture and contribute to shaping a world that is rapidly changing for the better.

Our Charge to you

We are calling on graduate and undergraduate students across the country to participate in The Home Depot's New Frontiers of Sustainability, a Competition for the LEEDers of Tomorrow. These students will be challenged with creating cutting-edge, sustainable designs for tiny homes. Once all designs have been submitted, the top three designs will be chosen and the teams will be given the money and resources to build their tiny home. The homes will then be approved by the United States Green Building Council and receive LEED-certification. Each team will also receive $50,000 in scholarship money split amongst the members of the team. To showcase the remarkable achievements of the students, the tiny homes will embark on a nationwide tour to further amplify the capabilities of The Home Depot's products.
