Hi! My name is Breelyn Wright and I teach Drawing and Painting at Waxahachie High School, just 30 miles south of Dallas. I have the best “job” in the world. Exposing young people to art and culture has such an impact on their development. I love helping my students develop their visual voice to create art about what matters to them! I am a strong believer in the value of promoting both visual awareness and knowledge about the world we live in, especially the way artists and designers have influenced all of our lives. In my class, students learn about Art History, how to strengthen their skills and engaging the mind through visual problem solving.

Making art is a creative process. Everyone can create quality art as long as they are committed. Hard work, passion and commitment are the keys to success! I firmly believe that having fun in daily sketchbook assignments not only improves your technique but builds your self-expression and strengthens your creative problem solving skills. We complete many projects throughout the year that introduce different mediums and techniques to the students. (You can see examples of my students self-expression, technique and creative solutions on this website.)

Enjoy their work! I am very proud of each and every one of my students.

I am honored to be a part of their creative journey!
