AVID'S MISSION STATEMENT
AVID's Mission: AVID has always believed in the importance of setting all students up for every aspect of future success.
For many students, that path includes a traditional college route; however, in many other instances, students choose other routes such as trade school, certification, military, or directly entering the workforce.
Regardless of a student’s ultimate path to a career, AVID can support the development of rigorous academic preparedness, student agency, and opportunity knowledge.

WHY JOIN AVID ELECTIVE OR CLUB?
Students that participate in the AVID program pick up new skills and master various concepts which will skyrocket their intellectual success. The new methods they learn can be applied to better understand topics or overall improve their academic environment and mindset.

[AVID Elective Class of 2024-2025]
Some strategies that I found most helpful were the action-steps strategy and the reasonable strategy. I reached my goal of getting a grade higher than a 75% in science (since all my other grades are 100%). The AVID program benefited me this year as I was able to use the extra time I got for test preparation, homework, assignments, projects, etc. I was also able to improve my art skills due to the number of DIY projects we did.
The TRF'S helped a lot because it helps teach myself and other people of possible ways to finish work based on the problem, to see if there is more than one way to solve it.
The AVID program has helped me by using TRFs and studying for tests. The TRFs helped me by figuring out what other people are working on and try to help them, which makes me smarter. I also can figure out my own problems using TRFs. The TRFs were like a study guide for me helping me with tests.
Some strategies that I used that helped me were TRFs. By asking the tutor's for help, my grade in math raised from a F to a C.
I switched from coding to AVID, and I think that was one of the best decisions I made in this school year. I had two C´s, two B´s, and one A in PE, but now my grade are much better. I don´t have any C's.
The AVID program has greatly benefited me this year by keeping my grades up and increasing my work ethic. In the AVID program I feel that there is always something to help you.
I found the TRFs and Smart goals the most helpful. I reached my goal in some classes and I got there by writing down things that confused me, and understood after. The smart goal helped because it would remind me what my goal is and what I'm currently at.
The AVID program has benefited me this year by letting me create a habit of organization and productivity. The strategies that helped me the most are the test taking strategies and process of elimination. I am almost at my goal of a 4.0. I'm so close, I will get there.
