Joshua Tree is a national that is 1,234 square miles. Joshua Tree National Park is home to 57 mammal species. Lizards, snakes, and the desert tortoise are among the 46 species of reptiles recorded in Joshua Tree. More than 250 species of birds have been observed in Joshua Tree. It is located on 74485 National Park Dr, Twentynine Palms, CA 92277. Joshua Tree was designated a national monument in 1936 by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. In 1994, it became a national park. Joshua Tree is also one of the best places to view stars. Also, Joshua Tree is a dream home for rock climbers. At the park, they literally have 8,00 climbing routes!!!!! Another fact is that some points whether it is above or on surface level, there are some great views of the desert. There are also some more facts such as the wildflowers are magnificent and you will have terrific photography opportunities. But of all the things, Southern California's Joshua Tree National Park is best known for its iconic flora. But there's much more to explore. Arid low desert and vegetated high desert meet in this beloved natural gem, offering visitors stunning vistas and rewarding hikes. History

Before the 1800's, the Joshua Tree region was inhabited by Native people. These Native people include the Pinto, Serrano, the Cahuilla, and the Chemehuevi. Then in the early 1800's, cattle drivers took over. Of course, the Gold Rush came and many miners were digging for gold. Then, nothing major happened until 1936, when Joshua Tree became Joshua Tree National Monument. Then, in 1994, it became a national park. Other than some new visitor centers and stuff, Joshua remains the same since.
