Announcements

The Fall Sports pre-season meeting will be virtual and split up by teams. Once meetings are set with each team, links will be posted. . This meeting is MANDATORY for all student-athletes (returning and incoming) and is for athletes and caregivers

The season will start Friday August 16 for Football and Golf and Monday August 19 for Cross Country, Field Hockey, and Soccer. In order to be eligible to participate all student-athletes must have the following completed.

CONCUSSION BASELINE TEST DIRECTIONS - MUST BE TAKEN ON LAPTOP/DESKTOP (NEED SPACEBAR & ARROW KEYS)

ALSO VERY IMPORTANT:

Concussion test will take 20-30 minutes. Athletes CAN FAIL the test. Athletes must read directions very carefully and be able to fully concentrate on the test without distraction. The entire test is memory and reaction time so if attention is pulled away from the test by a phone or someone else – the reaction times will not be valid and the test MUST BE RETAKEN. This test must be taken by incoming 9th graders/new students and must be retaken every 2 years.

The goal of the Northampton athletic program is to provide a competitive arena where student-athletes can display their talents, enhance their physical wellness and skills, and gain greater technical and tactical understanding of and appreciation for their chosen sport. We expect all our student-athletes to display a competitive spirit, outstanding sportsmanship, and exemplary character throughout the year, on and off the field of play. The athletic program should be a positive component of the student-athlete’s educational experience.

Participation in the athletic program is considered a privilege and requires student-athletes to commit their time, energy and loyalty, as well as accept coaches’ decisions, training techniques, and expectations. Student-athletes should willingly assume all responsibilities and obligations that are inherent in and unique to the program. Student-athletes must understand and appreciate that they not only represent themselves during competition, but also their teammates, their school and the Northampton community.
