Matter is anything that takes up space. 

The difference between elements and compounds is that an element is a single type of atom where as a compound has two or more types of elements.

The difference between heterogeneous and homogeneous mixtures is that in a heterogenous mixture the particles are uniformly distributed, while in a homogenous mixture the particles are non uniformly distributed.

Acids And Bases

Acids and bases are different as acids have pH levels of below 7 and bases have pH levels above 7. Acids are sour while bases are 

A real life example of an acid is lemon juice as it has a pH level of 2 and a real life example of a base is soapy water as it has a pH level of 12
