Jazmine Roy - My Favorite Things

This page is our first project we did which is the My Favorite Things video project. First we used Microsoft Word to write 3 things that we like in each category and then write a short sentence on why we like that thing in the category. Then we had to find 3 pictures for each topic in the categories. I personally really liked this project the most, it was so fun to share with other people what our intrest are and editing them in photoshop (Adobe photoshop helped a LOT). I feel like in this project we got to open up our creativity and let it shine!

Picking my Categories

My categories that I picked were food, tv shows, singers, music genres, and stores. The categories you pick are based on your favorite things like the ones I used. I had a hard time picking my favorite foods because i'm open to tasting anything so I really like a lot of different foods so I couldn't just pick one. For tv shows it was easy because I wasn't currently watching a lot of shows so it was easy to find the shows. Singers and music genres were also easy because I absolutely love music so it was easy to pick from my favorite singers and genres. Since I finished early I got to do 5 topics instead of 3 topics, so for my last topic I was kinda stuggling to find one, but I ended up picking stores because I love shopping, especially if it's for clothes or merch from a certain fandom I like.

Topics in the Category

Foods

The foods I picked were ramen, sushi, and Chick-fil-A. I had a hard time picking my favorite foods because i'm open to tasting anything from different cultures and I really like a lot of foods so I couldn't just pick one, but I ended up picking those 3 because ramen is one of my go to food because if I want to make something quick it wpould be something like instant ramen. I've only had sushi only a few times but it taste so good. I like Chick-fil-A which is my favorite fast food restraunt.

Tv Shows

The shows I picked were My Hero Academia, Stranger Things, and The Amazing Digital Circus. I picked these 3 because I absolutely fell in love with them. I love anime so much, so it was hard to pick my favorite but I ended up choosing My Hero Academia. My sister had been watching Stranger Things from when it came out, but as a kid I used to be scared of horror shows so I had never watched it, but then the 5th season came out and i'm not scared of horror shows anymore, so I finished it and it ended up being one of my favorite shows. My friend had been ecouraging me to watch The Amazing Digital Circus so I had ended up watching it and it would be the top teir show for me because it's so intresting and was like a whole emotional rollar coaster with all the backstories on each character.

Singers

The singers I picked were Enhypen, Olivia Rodrigo, and Katseye. I picked these because I admire their music so much. The way Enhypen songs have a variety of hype beats to angelic voices. Olivia Rodrigo is such a good singer and uses her vocals so well and her songs are just so good I can't get enough of them. Katseye has so much potential and each member has their own uniqueness to their voices and personalities and all of their voices together are just so beautiful.

Music Genres

The music genres I picked were pop, k-pop, and j-pop. I picked these because even though I listen to a lot of genres, these are usually my top genres. I have loved pop since I was a kid and it's always been one of my top genres. I've been liking k-pop for about 2 years now, and I love so many groups like: Stray Kids, ILLIT, Girlset, Enhypen, Cortis, Aespa, TXT, and so many more. I've been listening to more j-rock lately more than i've been listening to j-pop but I still love j-pop like &team for example.

Stores

The stores I picked were Hot Topic, Target, and thrift stores. I picked these because you can always find good stuff at these stores. At Hot Topic you can find merch from animes, bands, and singers, and also merch from shows and just in general cute accesories. At Target they have nice decoration but usually I go to Target for their CDs and merch books from different singers/groups. At thirft stores it's kind of a hit or miss thing because if you search for awhile you might find clothes you like but also you could search for hours and never find anything you like, but if you find something you like the price is usually lower than the real price.

These were some pictures I was thinking of using instead of the ones I put in the video, but never put them in because I thought the others were better. It was honestly so hard to pick my favorite pictures because they all look amazing!

Finding Pictures

Finding pictures was challenging because it was easy to find pictures but was challenging to get the right measurements which were 1440 x 2560 (and bigger). We used advance search in google images so I could get the right measurements, but overall this part of it was really easy. The hard part is finding 3 picture of each topic in your categories, you had to have a A, B, and C so 3 pictures for each topic and they all had to be the same or bigger than 1440 x 2560 so that was the challenging part, then you have to sort the topics into the folder and pick which one is your favorite out of the 3 pictures and that would be the picture you would use in your video.

Making Backgrounds and Titles

This part of the project was really fun because we got to use our favorite colors and got to discover all sorts of shapes and patterns to make with the colors in Adobe photoshop. This part was a very chill part of the project. Then after you make your backgrounds you have to put the name of your categories with the given fonts or what I did was use Adobe fonts and get the exact vibe your looking for. This part took a little longer for me than others because I did 5 categories instead of 3 so I had to make 2 more backgrounds and find more fonts.

This is my cover page and it took a while to make this cover because it was hard to get the colors and shapes right, but I ended up getting it just how I wanted, and honestly it's giving galaxy vibes in my opinion which is pretty cool to me.

This is my 2nd page and this one was really cool when I had made it, I like how I got the pink in the center and how the font is curly it just gives a nice aesthetic to it, and its kinda hard to see but I added a little white outline on it which makes the actually text look smoother.

This is my 3rd page and I really like how I got a shadow in the background and the colors are all right, but I like the font because it looks like it compliments the background with the bright white color which should be pretty visible from far away.

This is my 4th page and my favorite color is purple so I really enjoyed making this one and the font is pretty cool and again I tried to put the white on it and in my opinion I think it worked out better than on my 2nd page because it kinda pops out more because of the dark background.

This is my 5th page and this one was pretty hard to get the lines in the corner and get the words in the center so I kinda struggled with that part but I managed to get it and im really in love with the font because it reminds me of like ancient vibes which they look pretty cool because music has been around for ages so I kinda wanted to put the font as something that reminds me of music.

This is my 6th page and I like the contrast with the blue and pink like its a Tv Girl reference (does anyone get it), and I used the same background style as my 2nd page with the diamond in the center. Also I think I used the same font from my 4th title because I was running out of time to find specific fonts that I liked but it still ended up looking pretty awesome.
