The electromagnetic spectrum is a full range of every electromagnetic wave that are categorized by their wavelength, frequency, and energy. Scientist are able to use the electromagnetic spectrum for communication, medical image or treatment, astronomy, and thermal imaging. Wavelengths are the distance between two points one the waves for scientists to see which has the shortest wavelength. The waves with the longest wavelength are radio waves, and the ones with the shortest are gamma rays. Frequency is the number of times that occur in a second, and amplitude is the maximum distance on a point on the wave. Wavelengths are inversely the same to the energy of the wavelength which means that one will increase, and one will decrease. Radio waves have the lowest energy and gamma rays have the highest energy.
