In ELAR we were writing a lot during 6th grade, I will show you three of the main things we wrote throughout the year:
“Rules” Rule!
Have you ever thought or wondered why we have rules, because I most definitely have. But just in general we have rules outside of our homes, and even inside. For example we have to go on green traffic lights, or stop on a red ones. These are some simple rules that sometimes get broken, yet if we do everything correctly nothing should go wrong. Sometimes if us kids want to do something dangerous or not good, our parents will tell us to stop. Now if this starts to happen every day, your parents might make rules. They make rules to make sure you stay safe, and that no one gets hurt. Otherwise things could get out of hand, or uncontrollable. This is why rules are VERY important. People, mostly kids, would love to eat whatever they want. Things like candy, ice cream, fast food, and a lot of other unhealthy things. This would have people get a bunch of stomach aches, and get really sick. Parents would tell kids to eat more healthy foods like salads, or nutrient bars. These foods are more healthy; which can increase athleticness, sleepiness (when needed), and decrease moodiness, or attitude. Another example would be that you don’t want to go to bed, if this happens often like every night, your parents could set you a bedtime. Making sure you have a healthy sleep, which is very important by the way. If you don’t get enough sleep you could start to fall asleep during class, or your brain wouldn’t function very well like it used to. This could affect your sleeping, studying, and or learning. If you are to stay up late it shouldn’t be every day, as this could affect your health. (Weekends are different) kids love video games, or playing on their phone: right? Well it's not very healthy to sit around and watch stuff on your phone, or play video games on a chair all day. This is why parents could tell you to take a break. This could help a lot as the body could become more active over time. You never know, maybe they’ll like it outside instead of the virtual world. Now let's talk about what would happen if there were no rules, or everyone just decides to not listen to them. First of all, if people didn’t have a rule to go and stop at lights, there would be a lot of accidents, or traffic jams making people get hurt, or be late. Secondly people could get out of control, stealing from stores, or maybe even worse. And lastly, kids would absolutely go crazy on junk food. So maybe rules are a good thing, I mean after all they do help us in every way possible: Haven’t they?
