Music Rocks!
By: Ella Greco
A hot moment has passed since Mrs. Chu departed from Rosemont to begin her Maternity Leave. Her departure was emotional for the seventh graders, and arguably more so for the eighth graders. Mrs. Chu struck the chords of so many, teaching them the love of music. Ella Greco, a passionate musician, and member of the Spartan Scroll has a message for Mrs. Chu. on behalf of everyone in music.
Whether it's the pancake breakfast, seasonal concerts, or fighting for superiority at music festivals, the music program always does Rosemont justice. The community that the classes become is truly something magical (or musical…. Okay bad joke my bad). Hours go into preparation for every rehearsal and rehearsal is not about trying to learn the piece but to learn how to play together as one. It's learning to keep beat, noticing where your stand partner messes up and helping them. It’s about cheering your friend on when they get the solo, and trying your hardest to get that solo next time. You know you're doing something right when classes become family’s Mrs. Chu is to thank for that. For many years now, Mrs. Chu has been the core of Rosemont's musical success. She makes music fun and encourages students like no other. I know she will be a fantastic mother, because extraordinary teachers make one-of-a-kind mothers.
