I'll update this page when I have news to share!
Student may bring a water bottle to my classroom. The straws must be collapsible and the bottle must close completely, so no tumblers or "Stanley" like cups please.
No snacks in my classroom, please! We have allergies to consider!
Dear families,
Our vision: Amplify Texas Elementary Literacy Program provides a TEKS-aligned language
arts curriculum in English and Spanish designed to support Texas learners in the
classroom, at home, or wherever learning takes place.
Every child deserves access to knowledge: knowledge that sparks curiosity and wonder and
enables all children to discover the world. Amplify Texas builds knowledge and vocabulary
by integrating the teaching of foundational skills and background knowledge. Research
shows that building these skills at an early age is critical for success in later grades.
How it works: Our approach to building background knowledge is based on three pillars:
content specific materials support the development of knowledge in history, science,
literature, culture, and the arts; cumulative topics and vocabulary connect within and
across grades, allowing students to extend knowledge and revisit topics in more depth in
later grades; and coherent, intentional design ensures the curriculum fits together as a
whole.
We offer resources that focus on English foundational reading skills for K-2 students. The
skills program is research-based to get real results. Learning how to read with Amplify
Texas is explicit, with all 44 sounds and their 150 spellings in the English language taught,
practiced, and mastered, with ample opportunity to encounter each sound/spelling in
diverse settings; sequential, moving in a sequence from easier to more complex in phonics
and foundational reading skills, students master concepts before moving forward and
gradually become more independent; and fun, practicing with decodable chapter books
that feature dynamic plots and characters, making kids want to read more.
We are thrilled to provide this K-5 English and Spanish literacy program, which we feel will
make good on our promise to students in Texas and provide a high-quality academic
experience for educators, families, and children.
In partnership,
Amplify Texas
