Welcome to Burton Elementary! My name is Melinda Fuchs, and I am honored to serve as the principal of our wonderful school.
I am a proud graduate of Burton High School, Class of 1996. My journey in education began at Blinn College, followed by earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University in 1999. I later completed a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University in 2006 and earned my principal certification from Sam Houston State University in 2007.
For the past 27 years, I have been blessed to serve Burton ISD in a variety of roles, including teacher, counselor, and now principal. I am passionate about fostering a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where all students can grow and succeed.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family. I am married to my wonderful husband, Luke. I’m especially proud to be a mom of two Texas A&M University graduates! I also value opportunities to continue learning and growing as an educator.
It is a true privilege to lead alongside such a dedicated team of educators and to partner with our incredible students, families, and community members. Together, we are shaping the future of Burton ISD—one student at a time!
