He has started many companies, like the world's biggest commercial spaceflight company SpaceX and the massive electric car company Tesla. He also cofounded the immensely popular digital payment company PayPal.

Elon Musk is very good at convincing people to give him money and do things for him.

Elon's worth over two billion gp if you look at the price of living and the cost of things, but the purchasing power is more like nine billion gp.
