Ms. Smith's 4th Class

Welcome to our 4th class blogsite where we will keep you updated on all of the great things that are happening in our classroom!

In September, we have enjoyed settling back into our classroom, seeing our friends again and Ms Smith getting to know all of the wonderful pupils as well as the pupils getting to know their new teacher! ❤️

It has been great to get back into our routines, get stuck into our learning and enjoy working together again!

We have been busy getting organised, working hard and reminding ourselves of what it means to be part of a happy, respectful and supportive classroom community.

We have also been learning about our 4 Rs — Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Readiness. ⭐

Together, we have talked about what each of the 4 Rs looks and sounds like in our classroom and how we can put them into practice every day. We are working together to create a classroom where everyone feels happy, safe, respected and ready to learn. 🤝

We are off to a fantastic start and we are looking forward to all of the new learning, fun and adventures that 4th Class will bring! ⭐😊

At the beginning of September, we spent time revising our maths concepts, particularly place value, while also brushing up on our tables. We have been enjoying lots of fun and engaging games and activities to help us practise these important skills. Through group work and pair work, we have had plenty of opportunities to discuss our thinking, solve problems together and learn from one another. We really enjoy being active learners in maths and getting involved in practical activities. It has been a great way to refresh our knowledge, build our confidence and get back into our maths routines as we settle into 4th Class. 🧮✨📚

We have really enjoyed taking part in plenty of movement breaks, especially getting up and practising our dancing skills with Just Dance! 💃🕺 Getting up, moving our bodies and staying active is important to us. These fun breaks help us to feel refreshed, energised and ready to get back to our learning! ⭐❤️

Visual Arts: We have been exploring the fascinating world of Space and the history of the Space Race! Through subject intergeation we have enjoyed developing our drawing skills along the way! 🚀 We followed a step-by-step tutorial to learn how to draw an astronaut, while also experimenting with different artistic techniques and media. We explored blending oil pastels and chalk pastels, as well as using our pencils to create different shades, light and darkness. We have especially enjoyed adding shadows and detail to our astronauts to make them look more realistic. 👩‍🚀 We are really enjoying becoming more confident artists and can’t wait to reveal our finished astronaut artwork! 🌟
