In August 2024, we welcomed our new Junior Infants to our school!
The Junior Infants have been learning about their new school environment. The junior infants are admiring the work of the other students in our school when they created this fantastic bottle cap mural.
September 2024
Our beautiful outdoor garden. Last week we read a story in our healing garden when the sun was shining. In geography. we are learning about different sounds in our environment. This was a great opportunity to identify new sounds we could hear in the garden.

We love our weekly drama lessons with our drama teacher!
In PE, we have been learning new fundamental skills of Gaelic football with our coach. These skills including hopping, catching, throwing and running.

October 2024
We have been learning about primary colours. The primary colours are blue, yellow and red. The children took inspiration from artist Piet Mondrian, painting the primary colours in squares of different sizes.
Junior infants were examining our local environment to complete a autumn nature walk. The children used peer assessment checklists to identity things they observed in nature.
Trip to Mullingar Library- Junior and Senior infants went on the bus to the Mullingar Library.
In the library we completed STEM stations which we really enjoyed and followed by story time from the librarian

November 2024
In November, a lifeguard from PAWS visited our school to teach us about water safety. We explored where water would be in our homes and on farms. We learned the rules for the swimming pool and the four important colours to wear when swimming in water; which are red, yellow, orange and pink.
We practicing the procedure of throwing a ring buoy. This is a useful skill to learn!

Junior Infants have been discovering 2D shapes. We use maths talk to discuss different shapes all around us!
December 2024 - tradition in our school the oldest and youngest student turns on the christmas tree lights. We all enjoyed the countdown to turn on the lights.

January 2025
In January we learned about Africa. Check out our amazing animal masks we made.
February 2025
In February we explored our new school library. What an amazing new space for our school!
In STEM we were coding our robots to move in different directions. The challenge was to code their robot to move towards their animal picture card.
