Walk into St. Timothy's on any Sunday and you’ll notice the pews are occupied by a particularly huggable member of the congregation – a teddy bear.
These furry friends sit in the pews and take part in Sunday morning services each week. Members and visitors are invited to take the bears into the community and give them to family members, friends, or strangers who may need a reminder of God’s love.
Each bear has a tag with the following message:
This special bear worshipped with us at St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church. It has heard our scriptures, prayers, songs, and sermons. Our congregation has loved it and now it comes to you with our blessings. It brings prayers of love, peace, and joy to you today and always.
Love bears all things.
