Together, we’re empowering catholic men to live their faith at home, in our parish, at work and in our community
PURPOSE
The Knights of Columbus is one of the oldest Catholic Fraternal organizations founded in the United States.The Knights organization was started by Fr. Michael J. McGivney in New Haven, CT. In 1882, Fr. McGivney started the Knights to help aid families in need of financial and spiritual help during a time when loss of a family’s livelihood meant breaking up the family. His cause for Sainthood is being considered by the Vatican.
The St. Chavara Kuriakose Council #16596 was chartered in January of 2017 and is based at St. Thomas Syro Malabar Forane Church Somerset NJ. The Council meets on the fourth Sunday of each month.

OUR MOTTO
To Promote Faith, Charity, Family & Peace
Faith: To do all we can through prayer. To have the Rosary said. To support the Church in any way we can. To try to go forth and live God’s word every day. To pray for the sick.
Charity: To give whenever possible monetary and time to all and any charities requesting our help, especially the Knights of Columbus and St. Vincent DePaul. To help on fundraisers for any organization that requests or needs our help. To raise funds on our own to help others.
Family: To be there for each other and our families in times of trouble and sadness. To help support each other spiritually and to be there to help support the Knights of Columbus in their time of need.
Peace: To be advocates of Peace in these troubled times. To promote Peace throughout our lives, with our family, friends, neighbors, and the world.
