Religion: We are wrapping up Chapter 3 this week. We will have a quiz on Thursday. I’ll be giving students a study guide on Monday. Just a reminder, students will be able to use their books and study guides for this quiz. This is the last quiz for this unit. For the rest of the units, students will need to take quizzes without their study materials with them.
Math: We have completed our first module in our new math series. Students reviewed all the concepts on Friday. We will have a quiz on Monday.
Language Arts:
Reading - We started “By the Shores of Silver Lake” last week. We will continue reading and discussing the excerpt from this book this week.
Grammar - We will cover sentence fragments and run on sentences this week. That will complete the unit on sentences.
Spelling - No new words were assigned this week.
Handwriting - Pages 16-19 are due Wednesday.
Book Report Info - I will be giving directions for the book report this week. I will give them some class time to work on it. If they don’t finish in class, they will need to work on it at home. Many have finished their book, some are still working on theirs. The book report won’t be due until the end of the month, so students still have time to finish their books.
Science: We will be preparing for a quiz in Science. We’re about ½ way through the Physical Science unit, and I wanted to quiz the class on what they’ve learned so far. We are completing a study guide together, and we are reviewing together. We will also play Kahoot!. It is a digital review game that everyone seems to enjoy. The quiz is scheduled for next Tuesday, September 30.
Social Studies: Students have a quiz on Thursday. They will have to identify the Northeast states and name their capitals. They’ve got all the materials they need to prepare. Mrs. Deters has been reviewing with them as well.
Other: Have a wonderful week!
Blessings,
Mrs. Tierney
