Hi, my name is Jaclyn St. Laurent. I could not be more excited about my tenth-year teaching at St. Thomas the Apostle! I graduated from Central Connecticut State University where I received my Bachelor's Degree in English with a minor in Psychology. After receiving my degree, I furthered my education at the University of New Haven, where I received my Masters in Elementary Education. During my studies at UNH, I was blessed with the opportunity to study abroad in London, France and Amsterdam. My focus of studies there was in special education and behavioral issues. While attending Central Connecticut State University I took every course offered in American Sign Language. I furthered my education at the American School for the Deaf in West Hartford, CT. When time allows, I love teaching it to my students.
Although, this will be my tenth year here at STA, I was a third-grade teacher for four years at another Catholic school. Teaching is a passion of mine and I love helping students learn and grow. I love making God the center of all that we do. One of my favorite things about working in a Catholic school is that I can pray with my students throughout the day. When I am not teaching, my favorite thing to do is hang out with my two baby boys (1 and 2 years old). I also love spending time with my family and friends. I love traveling and seeing the world and lastly, I love ordering things from Amazon and drinking an iced coffee from Starbucks.
Some of my FAVORITE things . . . . .
