Year 6 Camp
Camp is happening from Wednesday the 5th of March to Friday the 7th of March. The Year 6 students will take part in a range of activities and spend two nights at Camp Carey in Henderson Valley. Year 6 camp is a huge learning experience for students that builds self-management skills, resilience and teamwork while challenging students with new experiences.

The full cost for the week is $350.00 per student. Payment is due before Wednesday 26th Feb 2025. Please note that we can not extend the payment date any later then this as Camp Carey needs final payment. This has been loaded onto your school account via MyKindo. Without payment your child will be unable to attend camp. If you are struggling to pay for camp, please speak to our school office to set up a payment plan.
We depart school at 1pm on the Wednesday and arrive back at school at 3:00pm on the Friday.

Gear list / what to pack
ALL PROPERTY MUST BE CLEARLY NAMED!
STUDENTS NEED TO BE ABLE TO LIFT AND CARRY THEIR OWN BAGS.
NO CELLPHONES OR OTHER DEVICES OR ELECTRONIC GAMES (there is limited phone reception and not many available power outlets for charging devices. There is also a high chance of phones and devices being damaged or lost if they are brought to camp).
No money or dangerous items.
No baking/muesli bars/sweets/candy/drinks or food of any kind to be brought – we are fed a lot at camp, and we have allergies to be careful of!*
Students to put the following items in their backpack for Wednesday: drink bottle, sun hat, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, medication (if needed) and pencil case
All caregivers are asked to check their child’s luggage for these items before camp.
*On the day we leave for camp, students will bring their own morning tea, packed lunch and afternoon tea to school in a disposable bag. The only food we take to camp is an afternoon tea snack (please make sure it is nut free) as we eat morning tea and lunch at school before leaving.

An overview of what camp week will look like
Monday and Tuesday will be normal school days
Wednesday 5th March
Students to wear mufti to school and will need to bring morning tea ,lunch and an afternoon tea snack for Wednesday (all other food provided by Camp Carey). Please make sure that students bring morning tea,lunch and afternoon tea in a snap-lock or reusable bag (no lunchboxes, Tupperware as this will take up space in their bags and will not be hygienic left at school).
We eat lunch before we get on the bus.
We will depart for Camp Carey at 1pm.
Please check the camp gear list (shown above) carefully to make sure students have everything they need. They will need lots of warm clothes and a good raincoat.
Make sure your child has ALL MEDICATIONS (if required) with instructions e.g. inhalers, epi-pens, antihistamine etc. These must be given to Ms Gosden in a named zip lock bag the morning of departure to camp.
All items MUST BE CLEARLY NAMED.

Please check your child’s luggage to make sure they have everything they need and no prohibited items are brought to camp.

Return from Camp Carey. Students will arrive back at school by 3pm.
