HAPPY & HEALTHY Spring 2026!
We are enthusiastic to be continuing our journey into new learning adventures this Spring, building deep friendships, and growing more as students and individuals.
Class 3-A embarks on new and different challenges in reading, writing, math, and science, all while making wonderful discoveries and fulfilling curiosities.
Together, we continue to make third grade in trimester three a supportive and fun classroom environment, where we feel confident, motivated, and ready to do our best work. Watch us bloom!💮💮💮
OUR LEARNING
In third grade, learning expands beyond foundational skills to more complex topics, encouraging independent thought and critical analysis. Students advance from "learning to read" to "reading to learn," tackling chapter books and more complex texts.
In religion, students learn that Jesus teaches us to live as children of God through the Sacraments, the Commandments, and prayer.
In math, students master multiplication and division, are introduced to fractions and geometry, and also learn about time, mass, and volume.
In science, topics shift toward hands-on experiments covering areas like ecosystems, animal & plant life cycles, natural disasters, and energy and forces.
Social studies focuses on community, geography, citizenship, and history through map skills, local history, as well as the comparison of different cultures.
Our texts also integrate more sophisticated writing, research, grammar skills, and cursive handwriting.
