HEINZ NEUBER MEDAL

The award is assigned every two years to scientists that have strongly contributed to the topic of design of structures in presence of defects, notches and geometrical discontinuities.

LES POOK MEDAL

The award is assigned every two years to scientists that have strongly contributed to the topic of three-dimensional stress fields near cracks and notches.

Regulations and Eligibility Criteria

Every ESIS/TC18 member can submit a proposal to the ESIS TC18 Awards Committee biannually until March.

The proposal must to be seconded by another member, however, from a country other than that of the proposer (and both should be from a different country than that of the candidate).

The proposal should include a detailed justification of the candidate, typically spanning one to two pages.

It shall include a detailed CV of the candidate and a list of his/her five most important publications.

The ESIS TC18 Awards committee needs to be composed of TC18 chairmen, TC18 scientific managers, and two people selected by the TC18 committee (people selected for just one year).
