Since its founding in 1985, ESIS Technical Committee 4 on Fracture of Polymers, Polymer Composites and Adhesives aims at fostering the use of fracture mechanics for this class of materials by 

1. developing fracture mechanics based standard test procedures (typically within ISO) based on extensive round robin experiments, recently also complemented by numerical simulation and modelling,

2. serving as a discussion forum for specialists with the semi-annual TC meetings,

3. disseminating related information by organizing a triennial conference and publications in ESIS sponsored journals (e.g., Engineering Fracture Mechanics), and

4. providing opportunities for networking and collaborations among the participants

Participation in these activities is open to all interested people from academia, research institutions and industry world-wide.
