Science:
Thursday: More work and discussion about food webs and the assignment they started on Tuesday. No homework.
Wednesday: No science class today.
Tuesday: They had a food web/chain assignment that they worked on in class. You will have time to work on it more Thursday: No homework.
Monday: Go to Mr. L's Google Classroom to see if there was an assignment posted today. Don't think there was, but just in case.
Religion:
Thursday: More confession practice. Quiz tomorrow.
Wednesday: They continued to practice the steps for confession. No homework, expect for those that need to finish make-up work.
Tuesday: They continued to review the steps for a proper confession for next week's reconciliation. They also watched an informative video titled, "How do I go to confession?" It's worth a watch.
Monday: Today they reviewed what to do for reconciliation, which we will do all week. The reconciliation service will be next week, Tuesday February 10th.
Math:
Thursday - homework: Practice Book 93 & 94
Wednesday: They took the rest of the chapter test and collected the review worksheet. On to the next chapter.
Tuesday: They took 1/2 of the chapter test today. We passed back the chapter review guide for you to study again tonight. (Many did not do this last night.). Use the IXL math program to review the concepts. (input 5DK, 85W, 28A)
Monday - homework: Review the study guide for tomorrow's test. For additional math help, examples, and videos for tomorrow's test go to the IXL math program (input 5DK, 85W, 28A)

We read, watched, and discussed the final section of the chapter, The Intolerable Acts. Chapter quiz next week, perhaps Tuesday.

Tuesday: Homework - finish reading chapter 8, the flow chart and the "quiz" worksheet.
Monday: No time for Esperanza Rising today. We will have time tomorrow.

Classwork: JRN page 184 and 186. Please use the attached paper for your amazing write-up.
Spelling worksheet was passed out Tuesday. The spelling test won't be until next week but you should work on 2-3 words each night.
Wednesday: Classwork: JRN page 185 - Word Sort and Spelling worksheet: Complete the challenge words section of the spelling worksheet #11-15
Tuesday: Classwork: JRN unit page 183 and 184 JUST (1-11)
Monday: Next JRN packet and spelling worksheet will start tomorrow.
Persuasive Writing - State Report:
Thursday: Homework - Final report due tomorrow. Pay close attention to your letter. How does it look and read? Is the picture the right size? Are your paragraphs all indented the same? Remember, no spaces between paragraphs. Is your letter a full or nearly a full page. My sample letter has 21 sentences in total. Yours should be close to that. Many letters were returned today for the reasons state above.
Wednesday: The morning and afternoon sessions were dedicated to working on the rough drafts. Progress is happening. If your rough draft isn't complete, your homework is to complete it. Final paper is due Friday and is posted on our Google Classroom.
Tuesday: The whole afternoon was allocated to working on their rough draft. Many have put forth lots of effort, and will ready to finish the rough draft tomorrow. Unfortunately, many still have a lot of work to do.
Monday: We began the good work of writing the rough draft. This needs to be done by Wednesday with the final typed paper due Friday. This will be a Google Classroom assignment, which should be posted Wednesday at the end of the day, based on how everyone is progressing.
(last week) The first phase of the state report is underway. Your first task is to research the state you want to write about. Come up with a list of interesting facts about the state you think is so interesting. We will use these two on-line resources to learn about the state you want.

Science:
Wednesday: No science class on Wednesday.
Tuesday: The discussion in the science lab with continue on Thursday. No homework until then.
Monday: Homework paper (not Google Classroom ) writing assignment due tomorrow "Why do plants grow?" Go to Mr. L's Google Classroom for more information about the assignment.
Religion:
Wednesday: Today the corrected Lesson 2 & 3, finished reading the chapter, and started work on Lesson 4. Quiz tomorrow. No homework.
Tuesday: They completed the Lesson 2 worksheet and started Lesson 3 "Visitation worksheet. No homework.
Monday: Today they read about the Annunciation in chapter 11, started the Lesson 2 worksheet. They will have time tomorrow to finish that in class. No homework.
Math:
Wednesday homework: Finish the sweet shop worksheet.
Tuesday - homework: Practice Book page 89 & 90. Show your work on binder paper.
Monday - homework: Practice Book 87 & 88. You must show your work on binder paper. Just how we went over it in class today.
Social Studies:
Wednesday: We covered two more events today the Quarting and Stamp Act and started an art project just in time for tomorrow's Open House.
Monday:
We did a little cutting and pasting worksheet project today.

Thursday: Today they were able to finish their Catholic scientist drawings and write-up. There is a Google Classroom homework assignment that is due tomorrow. Go to Mr. L's Google Classroom for more information about the assignment. This is were you will also submit it.
Wednesday: No science class on Wednesday
Tuesday: Today in the science lab they put away their lab coats and cleaned out there gardens. They then continued working on their catholic scientist writing assignment. This assignment will be due at the end of class on Thursday. No homework.
Religion:
Thursday: They continued working on the MLK-Jesus art project.
Wednesday: They had more time today to work on MLK-Jesus parallels art project and further their work on the next chapter. No homework. Reminder: Sunday, January 25 is Catholic Schools Mass - St. Rose Church 10:30 - dress uniform.
Tuesday: They watched a video on Martin Luther King Jr. and started a MLK-Jesus parallels art project.
Math:
Thursday - homework: Practice Book page 85 & 86. Use blue & yellow colored pencils.
Social Studies:
Thursday: Introduced chapter 10 and wrote down the 6 academic terms in their notebook.
Wednesday: We went over the quiz, which overall everyone did much better on.

Science:
Thursday: More research on Catholic scientists. No homework.
Wednesday: No science class on Wednesday.
Tuesday: Today they had a mystery guest science teacher. This mystery teacher had them work on a classroom art project on Catholic scientists. No homework. The homework assignment from yesterday will be collected on Thursday.
Monday: Today in the science lab they discussed the three (3) ways the sun is converted into energy. Homework tonight is to write a paragraph on paper the three ways the sun is converted into energy.
Religion:
Thursday: Final run through for tomorrow's Mass. They also read, discussed, and worked on the next chapter 11 worksheet "John the Baptist". No homework.
Wednesday: They continued to practice for Friday's Mass (which we are hosting.). Then they corrected and collected the last worksheet in the chapter. After all that, they took the chapter 10 quiz.
Tuesday: They practiced for Friday's Mass, completed Lesson 4 "Idol Worship" worksheet. Homework to those that did not finish the worksheet. Chapter 10 quiz tomorrow.
Monday: They practiced for Friday's Mass, corrected Lesson 3 worksheet, and continued reading chapter 10. No homework.
Math:
Thursday - homework: finish the second page of the Exchange Rate worksheet. Most did, some still need to. For additional math help, examples, and videos go to the IXL math program (input H8K, U5L, THS)

Science:
Thursday: There's a homework writing assignment about your favorite animal. It needs to be 6-7 complete sentences in length. It also needs to be submitted through Mr. L's Google Classroom by 11:59 tonight. Most finished said assignment during class time, others still need to. Go to Mr. L's Google Classroom for more information.
Wednesday: No science class today.
Tuesday: Today they had an assignment on their favorite animal. This assignment will be worked and finished on Thursday. No homework.
Monday: Today in the science lab they continued the discussion of Killdeer the bird and what type of fish they were going to get for the classroom, and the specific needs that particular fish requires. No homework.
Religion:
Thursday: They practiced readings for Mass, corrected the Lesson 1 chapter 10 worksheet from yesterday. Some need to finish the worksheet tonight for homework.
Wednesday: They worked on and completed the chapter 1 Lesson 1 - Prophets worksheet. No homework.
Tuesday: Today the finished watching and discussing the Ark of the Covenant video from the Bible Project. No homework.
Monday: They read chapter 9 and watched a fascinating video on the Covenant from the Bible Project. No homework.

Thursday - homework: Big Book page 181. Be sure to reference 180 for helpful examples. For additional math help, examples, and videos go to the IXL math program (input VNT and 2FH).
Wednesday - homework: Practice Book 4.3 pages 79 & 80. Must show your work on binder paper just how we showed you. Plenty of time was given in class to complete most of it.
Tuesday - NO homework...but you could review yesterdays work by going to the IXL math program (input 5DK, 85W, 28A and GC5).
Monday - homework: Practice Book page 75 & 76.

Homework: Complete the Atlas New England and Middle Colonies atlas worksheets. You will need your atlas to complete these.
Classwork: We completed the chapter 7 worksheet. Chapter 7 quiz will be next week.

Homework: Read the New York section in your history book, then complete JUST the New York section of the chapter worksheet. Time was given in class to complete most of this.
Monday: We completed the Massachusetts and the Rhode Island section together in class. No homework.
Literature:
Wednesday: Homework - Read chapter 5 of Esperanza Rising.
Tuesday: Homework - finish writing the final chapter 4 summary. Many finished this in class. Many still need to tonight.
Monday: We will get back to Esperanza Rising tomorrow.
