Your child should arrive between 9:00am and 9:15am (not before 9:00am due to limited parking) and will be greeted at the main gates by staff. They should wear their Primary School PE kit, bring a packed lunch, and plenty to drink. Mobile phones will not be needed. Students will register in the Restaurant and discover their college placement for September. The day will include a mix of PE and subject sessions.
We also invite parents and carers to a Welcome Meeting with our Leadership Team at 2:15pm. Please arrive from 2:00pm; the meeting will end at 2:45pm.
If your child cannot attend Transition Day, please email transition@stroodacademy.org by Friday 27th June.
As we enter Module 6 and approach the end of the academic year, Year 7 students are continuing to make excellent progress across all areas of learning. Their enthusiasm, resilience, and growing independence have been evident throughout the year, and it's been particularly rewarding to see how they have developed both academically and socially. Students are engaging well with new content, building on the strong foundations laid earlier in the year, and demonstrating a more mature approach to their studies. With the final module underway, Year 7 are well-positioned to finish the year on a high note, showing real readiness for the challenges of Year 8.
As we move into Module 6, Year 8 students are showing strong momentum and focus as they near the end of the academic year. Their growing confidence and sense of responsibility have been clear, both in the classroom and around the school community. Throughout the year, they have continued to build on their knowledge and skills, with many students showing noticeable progress and maturity in their approach to learning. As we prepare for the final weeks, Year 8 are demonstrating real readiness for the transition to Year 9, and we’re proud of the commitment and effort they’ve shown this year.
As we enter Module 6, Year 9 students are approaching the end of the academic year with determination and a clear sense of purpose. This has been a pivotal year for them, marked by increased independence, thoughtful reflection on their future pathways, and preparation for the transition to Key Stage 4. Their engagement in lessons has remained strong, and many have shown real maturity in taking ownership of their learning. As they begin to look ahead to the challenges of GCSEs, Year 9 are ending the year with a positive mindset and a strong foundation for success in the next phase of their education.
Year 10 have returned to school for Module 6 with great focus and determination. Their positive attitude and commitment to learning have been evident across all subjects, setting a strong tone for the term ahead. With mock exams fast approaching, students are showing a mature approach to revision and preparation, making the most of class time and support available. We're proud of their efforts so far and confident they'll continue to rise to the challenge.
Year 11 have shown exceptional resilience and dedication as they approach the final stages of their GCSE exams. Since returning for Module 6, they’ve maintained a strong work ethic and focus, making the most of every opportunity to consolidate their learning. With only a short time left before they complete this important chapter, we’re incredibly proud of their determination and the maturity they’ve demonstrated throughout the exam period. We wish them the very best as they reach the finish line.
Sixth Form students have returned for Module 6 with a clear sense of purpose and ambition. Year 13s, in particular, are in the final stretch of their A-Level exams, and their commitment and perseverance during this crucial period have been outstanding. Their focus and determination are a testament to the hard work they’ve put in over the past two years. As they approach the end of their Sixth Form journey, we’re incredibly proud of all they’ve achieved and look forward to celebrating their successes.
