Week Commencing 09/12/24 Module 2 2024-2025
Mr Jon Richardson - Principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope this letter finds you well as we approach the end of yet another productive week at our academy. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for your unwavering support during what has transpired to be an incredibly busy and rewarding module.
Throughout this week, our academy has experienced numerous highlights, many of which I am eager to share with you. A significant milestone was the completion of a formal review of our Sixth Form, conducted by the Trust. This extensive two-day review involved lesson visits, pupil panels, and a range of other activities facilitated by a team of expert leaders from the Trust. I am pleased to report that the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Pupil engagement was identified as a key strength, demonstrating the profound commitment of our students to their learning journey. Furthermore, the quality of lessons observed received high praise, which is a testament to the dedication of our teaching and support staff in providing an enriching educational experience.
In addition to the review, we had the pleasure of welcoming Year 11 parents and carers, along with their children, to the academy for the collection of mock results. This event began with a short presentation delivered by key members of our team, which provided valuable insights into the mock examination process and expectations moving forward. Following this, we distributed the results and facilitated meetings with subject teachers to offer guidance and support. It was heartening to witness the level of engagement and purpose during this event, which underscored the importance of partnership between the academy and families in fostering academic success.
This week also saw the successful hosting of our Sixth Form parents' evening. We were delighted to have such a strong turnout, which enabled meaningful conversations between parents, pupils, and our teaching staff. Discussions centred around potential improvements, demonstrating our collective commitment to ensuring that our Sixth Form provision remains responsive to the needs of our students.
Our sports teams have continued to thrive, participating in fixtures across football, netball, and basketball. We are particularly excited to announce the launch of our inter-college basketball team, which has generated a great deal of enthusiasm among our pupils. It is truly a joy to see our students actively engaged in extracurricular activities, showcasing their talents and teamwork in a competitive setting.
As we look ahead to next week, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that it marks the final week of the academy calendar year. As we approach the festive season, I want to assure you that we will maintain our rigorous teaching schedule right up until the end, understanding that every lesson is vital for our students' academic development.
I would like to remind you of our Parent Voice Forum scheduled for Tuesday, 17th December at 6:00 PM. This forum provides an excellent platform for parents and carers to voice their thoughts and contribute to the ongoing development of our academy. Your viewpoints are invaluable, and it would be wonderful to see as many of you as possible participating in this important dialogue.
Additionally, on Thursday, 19th December, we will be holding our highly anticipated Winter Showcase, starting at 6:00 PM. This event promises to be a spectacular evening, allowing our pupils to showcase their remarkable talents in various forms of performance. It is a celebration of the creativity and hard work our students have put into their artistic pursuits, and we eagerly look forward to welcoming you to witness this display of talent and dedication.
Lastly, as we approach the end of term, I would like to inform you that our reward assemblies will take place, recognising and celebrating the achievements of our pupils. The holiday season will officially commence from 1:30 PM on Friday, 20th December with an early dismissal. Please ensure relevant arrangements are made to support your child’s journey home from the academy.
Sending warm wishes for a restful weekend. Thank you, once again, for your continued partnership in your child's education.
Warm regards,
Mr Jon Richardson

As we enter the new academic year, we have come together as a community to reflect on all we have achieved so far. This includes:
Introducing and embedding routines for students such as morning line ups and the assembly protocol
Promoting students' extra curricular interests and hobbies through a range of lunchtime and after school clubs and activities
Further improving communication with parents and carers through events such as face-to-face Parents Evenings and Parent Voice Forums
We are immensely proud of the progress we have made so far, and while acknowledging that we are still at the very beginning of our Vision 2028 journey, we are looking forward to the successes we will continue to achieve along the way. We look forward to our second year of Vision 2028 and cannot wait to celebrate all we will achieve.
