Girls Netball Successes
Another busy week in PE and it begins with a win!
The Year 7 netball girls were in action yesterday as they took on Robert Napier! In a competitive fixture the girls showed true resilience and grit winning 4-2! Ella secured the player of the match award with a hat trick of points, with Kyla also netting! The girls commitment and development over the last few months has been remarkable and they remain unbeaten! Go girls!!
Inter-College Basketball Event
On Wednesday, the PE Team hosted our first Inter-College Event of the year where we saw the Year 10's and 7's compete for valuable college points to secure the Year Group and Overall Trophies! No final standings will be shared until the celebration assembly on the final day of term however...
Year 10 competitions were won by...HERCULES and TRAFALGAR!
Year 7 competitions were won by...HERCULES AND TRAFALGAR!
HOWEVER...VICTORY College made 3 of the 4 finals so have secured valuable and consistent points. Is it enough to have won them the overall awards?
Next week sees the Year 8 and 9 competitions. We look forward to celebrating the successes of these! Well done to you all!

Bebras Challenge
This year, our students proudly participated in the Bebras Challenge 2024, showcasing their computational thinking skills. Congratulations to Seb and Chris, who achieved Distinction awards, and a special mention to Harry, who earned the title of Best in School. Notably, Seb and Harry also secured Gold Awards, placing them in the top 10% of participants nationally. Well done to all who took part!
Year 12 Applied Science
Last week, our Year 12 Applied Science students conducted a practical activity using light microscopes to examine onion epidermis slides stained with iodine. They carefully used seeker needles to extract a thin layer of onion skin, which they placed on slides and stained with iodine. Observing the samples under the microscope at three different magnifications, the students then created detailed drawings of their observations.
