The online world offers amazing opportunities but also brings elements of potential risk and for parents & carers, making sense of the online world can appear to be an enormous challenge. Unlike previous generations, the online environment is an integral part of children’s lives and therefore we can no longer consider their wellbeing or safety without also considering their relationship to technology. However, staying safe online is fundamentally about behaviours rather than the technology itself and if approached from this perspective, we can begin to gain confidence to support our children.
The illustration here provides some useful tips for Parents and Carers when discussing the online environment with children.
Jam Coding is thrilled to offer a fantastic opportunity for your child to join a free Game Design coding club!
This engaging session will boost your child’s digital skills through the power of play. If they love playing games, they’ll be even more excited to use their gaming experience and creativity to design their very own unique games. In this course, children will follow the same steps that professional game developers use to bring their ideas to life. They’ll design characters, create backgrounds, and use coding to build their very own 2D game using specialised software.
Feel free to come along on September 28th for a complimentary session, with the opportunity to sign up for a full term of fun if your child wants to continue honing the skills they’ll start to develop during this session!
