Dear Parents/Carers, 

Another excellent week at Strood Academy, with some excellent news for our ADT team. This week we have been awarded the Silver Arts Mark Award. A highly commended award which holds great stature and a thoroughly well deserved award to a truly inspirational department. Well done to all involved. 

This week we have welcomed our Year 7 parents to our academy on Wednesday afternoon for a settling-in session to meet their form tutor. A lovely afternoon with so many positive conversations taking place. A great chance to share the successes of the first term. 

We’ve also hosted another open morning, again another huge success and the positive comments received have been incredible to hear. We have our final open morning taking place next Thursday 19th October starting at 9am. 

On Thursday we welcomed Simon Beamish our CEO and Emma Elwin our Academies Director to Strood Academy. The purpose of the visit was to observe first hand all of the excellent developments that are currently taking place. They both had the chance to visit Victory assembly, followed by many lessons, a staff and pupil panel as well as a visit to the Endeavour Centre which is very nearly completed. They also had the chance to work with many members of the leadership to discuss the progress made across all areas of the academy. The feedback received was especially positive with huge credit going to our pupils as they were both remarkably impressed with the engagement and culture of learning within the academy. Again, our pupils continue to step up to the high standards and expectations that we set daily. 

We go into our final week of term on Monday in an excellent position, with extremely strong routines established from the first six weeks of term. Pupils are continuing to enjoy the opportunities of the wide range of after school and lunch time clubs provided and our Year 11 pupils are maximising intervention.
