Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Carers,

Another very busy week at Strood Academy. This week we have continued to embed our routines and our pupils have been working extremely hard within the academy. I’ve had multiple opportunities to visit many lessons this week and our pupils continue to work very hard, engaging within learning and challenging themselves to improve each and every day.

This week we have practised our lockdown procedure, this took place on Wednesday 4th October at 1:30pm. Pupils have been taught our very clear expectations of this and shown a video of what to do should we ever need to go into such a situation. Again, our staff and pupils were extremely well prepared and ensured this event was carried out with the highest levels of maturity. Thank you for your understanding and support here.

On Thursday morning we held another Year 6 open morning which was a huge success. We’ve created three further open mornings due to the high demand and popularity and we are embracing the chance to show our new pupils and parents our academy.

On Thursday evening we welcomed just under 100 families to our academy for Sixth Form open evening. We started with a talk in the main hall with Miss Hancock, Mr Pleasant and myself followed by subject based stalls in our Sports Hall. It was excellent to see so many pupils and parents but also a number of external pupils wishing to join the Sixth Form next year. Please see the images below.

Our Year 7 and Year 12 pupils are now very settled into their new environments and enjoying and embracing school life each day. We thank the wider school community for ensuring they settled with ease.

As we come to a close for another school week we look forward to a further two weeks before our half term break. Our pupils have worked so hard this term and we continue to challenge them daily to surpass their expectations.

As always, thank you for your continued support. We look forward to welcoming our pupils back to the academy on Monday morning.
