A huge well done to our Year 7s for their achievement in most improved Sparx Maths homework completion rate across the entire Trust. This is a fantastic achievement - keep up the hard work!

Recently, students involved in the creation of the Strood Academy newspaper, The Perspective, have come together to create a sustainable and informative website. Here, all issues of the newspaper, as well as more recent articles, episodes of their podcast and creative stories can be accessed. Click here to read more. sixth form spotlight

A group of Sixth Form students have created their very own business named "Trendz", learning what it means to run some level of a company/business in the real world. The majority of the students working on this business come from a Year 12 Finance class, while others want to understand managing a business and working out finances in the real world. But most of all, the aim of all students involved is to have a bit of fun.

"Trendz" is stationed in the Hercules tables between the restaurant and the PE Hall and is open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at break time.

REWaRDS!

Towards the end of Module 3, we introduced a number of new rewards for students including MYP Learner profile attribute badges and Friday attendance rewards. Information on these rewards can be seen below.

MYP Learner profile attribute badges can be awarded for:

Achieving 10 or more reward points in that attribute.
Completing an additional task/community project/something notable outside of their lesson time.
Individual nominations from staff members.

Friday attendance rewards: students are having the chance to be rewarded if they attend a full week at school from Friday to Thursday each week. Rewards are being given out the following Friday and students must be in attendance on that day to receive their reward. Two students per year group, per college are being awarded a certificate and a prize if their attendance is 100% during this period.

We have celebrated a number of these rewards so far and we look forward to awarding more badges, prizes and certificates to students throughout the rest of the academic year.
