Principal's Message
Mr Jon Richardson - Principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
This week at Strood Academy has been another busy and successful one, filled with fantastic achievements by our pupils and opportunities for parents to engage with the school community.
Celebrating Victories on the Pitch!
Our school football teams have been putting in a strong showing this week, competing in fixtures against other local schools. We are incredibly proud of their sportsmanship and dedication on the field!
Year 11 Mock Exam Results and Next Steps
On Wednesday afternoon, we held a well-attended event for Year 11 pupils and their parents to receive their mock exam results. We were delighted to see such a high turnout, demonstrating the commitment both pupils and parents have towards their future success. Mr Fatania, Mr Pleasant, Ms Hancock, Mrs Webster, Mrs Emslie and Ms Pryce delivered informative speeches, and afterwards, pupils had the valuable opportunity to meet with their Year 11 teachers to discuss their next steps.
Positive Feedback at Year 7 Parents Evening
Thursday evening saw our Year 7 Parents' Evening, and it was a resounding success! Parents and carers had the fantastic opportunity to meet with our dedicated teaching staff to discuss their child's progress. The evening was filled with positive and purposeful feedback, and both pupils and parents left feeling happy and informed.
Important Dates and Reminders:
A friendly reminder that the final day of the current module will be Thursday, 28th March. This will be a full school day, finishing at the usual time of 3:20pm.
We look forward to welcoming all pupils back for the new module on Monday, 15th April.
Celebrating Achievements in College Assemblies
Next week, we will be hosting our special college assemblies, where we will be recognising and celebrating the various successes of our pupils. These are cherished events that mark the end of each term and provide a wonderful platform for acknowledging our students' hard work and dedication.
Just a reminder to all that we have our parent voice forum taking place on Tuesday 26th March at 6pm - 7pm. We look forward to welcoming you to join us.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support. We are incredibly proud of our pupils' achievements this week and look forward to even more success in the weeks to come.
Regards,

Since the new year, we have come together as a community to reflect on all we have achieved so far. This includes:
Introducing and embedding routines for students such as morning line ups, the assembly protocol and focusing on transitions around the academy building; encouraging students are moving between lessons with pace and purpose and ensuring all students feel safe when moving around the academy
Focusing on combating 'Culture Killers' such as poor uniform standards, litter around the academy, use of foul and inappropriate language and body language within lessons; ensuring all students are presenting as focused and ready to learn
Implementing a standardised homework policy across the academy, where students are aware of the expectations around homework as well as the importance of this
Promoting students' extra curricular interests and hobbies through a range of lunchtime and after school clubs and activities
Improving relations with parents, carers and the local community through information shared social media platforms and in Weekly Parent Bulletins
Further improving communication with parents and carers through events such as face-to-face Parents Evenings, Year 7 Meet the Form Tutor, Parent Voice Forums and Parental Drop-Ins as well as tools such as 'Request Call Back' button and college-specific email addresses
We are immensely proud of the progress we have made so far, and while acknowledging that we are still at the very beginning of our Vision 2028 journey, we are looking forward to the successes we will continue to achieve along the way.
