Online dating has seen a sharp rise in popularity over the last few years, with apps such as MyLOL and Wink having drawn a huge userbase of young people. While these apps have helped bring together many couples who may never have met otherwise, lax security measures and bad actors can turn these apps into a hotbed of online safety risks. This guide investigates these risks and makes sure you’re equipped to keep your child safe in the world of online dating.

On Wednesday 13th March 2024, we proudly hosted the grand opening of The Endeavour Centre, our specialist resourced provision for autism.
The ceremony was attended by The Mayor of Medway, the local authority, our governors, students, parents and staff, who all joined together to celebrate this wonderful occasion.
The speeches were confidently delivered by our students, who had the pleasure of officially declaring the centre open. Following this, our guests were given guided tours by staff and students, who showcased the impressive facilities the centre has to offer, including the sensory room and our unique learning spaces.
We will be holding an opening event for parents of year 5 students, who have an EHCP with a primary need of autism and meet our admission criteria. To register your interest, please click here.

“Everything is important - success is in the detail”
Due to the HUGE success and outstanding conduct by the year 11 students we have decided to continue our privilege cards. Year 11 students will continue to be allowed to enter and exit the site every day, queue jump in the restaurant and have their own exclusive year 11 space at lunch time. Students will need to show their cards to gain these privileges and on the final day of term if they are signed and 100% attendance has been achieved they will exchange the card for a treat! In addition to this, we will be doing a prize draw every morning where 3 students (1 per college) will win a £5 voucher. Students will gain entry into the draw by: being present at school the day before, they will gain an additional entry into the draw if they attend intervention the day before, and finally they gain an entry into the draw for every reward point they achieve in lessons the day before. We look forward to celebrating their success every morning at line ups.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all parents and careers for attending Year 11 mock results afternoon on Wednesday. We were privileged to be able to welcome an outstanding 89% of parents and carers into our academy, demonstrating your commitment and dedication to your child's studies.
Thank you to parents, carers and teachers involved. Your contributions are invaluable, and we truly appreciate all you do for our students.
Lucy Stevens, an Outreach Officer from Oxford University, took the lead during Wednesday's Year 11 assembly, aimed at raising aspirations. Throughout the session, Lucy offered invaluable advice and guidance to our students, shedding light on life at Oxford and the process of applying. During the assembly, Lucy shared her experiences and expertise, aiming to inspire our Year 11 students to dream big and strive for academic excellence. She emphasized the importance of breaking down barriers and challenging preconceived notions about prestigious institutions like Oxford.

Years 12 and 13 have subject-specific study periods built into their timetables, roomed into the study area. This area is now being supervised as a quiet study area to enable students to continue with their set subject work. We hope students find this useful.
