Principal's Message

Mr Jon Richardson - Principal

Dear Parents/carers,

Thank you for your continued support during module 2. Our pupils continue to thrive within our warm environment set upon high expectations.

We are extremely proud of our progress and achievements during module 1 and 2 and are in a fantastic position to continue this when we return to school in module 3.

To confirm we are back to school on Wednesday 3rd January, a reminder that all pupils must be through the main gate by 8:30am. Thank you for your continued support in ensuring your child is punctual to school.

This week has been extremely busy, with multiple events taking place as well as the festivities alive and kicking within the academy. We hosted our module 2 parent voice forum on Tuesday evening with such positive and purposeful conversations taking place. Thank you to those who attended and contributed to the discussions. Last night we hosted our first ever Christmas show, with over 300 parents/carers in attendance. This was an incredible evening. We also collaborated with Stagecoach, Bligh Primary School and High Halstow Primary Academy, who joined us for an evening of festivities. The performances of our pupils were truly incredible. An evening that we can all be very proud of. I would like to extend our thanks to the Performing Arts department for running this event and spending the additional time to enable our pupils to perform on such a stage. A night we will all remember.

This week the LAT published their winter newsletter, for full details please click here. Strood Academy has contributed to this newsletter which you will find enclosed.

You will also be aware that Strood Academy is an International Baccalaureate World School, last week our CEO, Simon Beamish had an article published on the TES where the Trust has received national recognition for the excellent curriculum delivered not just at Strood Academy but across the Trust. Please see here for further information.

Thank you to many of you who have provided feedback regarding the academy entrances and exits, over the break I will review this information and update you all in due course. Thank you.

To summarise our progress so far this academic year is truly incredible, we are so proud of our achievements and our pupils who attend the academy. We couldn’t make this progress without the continued support of our parents/carers to ensure we can achieve excellence here at Strood Academy.

I would like to extend my personal thanks to our pupils, they are truly incredible, a joy to be around and to have within our Strood Academy community. I also extend my thank you to you as parents for your continued support.

My final thank you is to the commitment and hard work of our staff at Strood Academy, we continue to recruit the very best teachers and support staff and I’m confident that your child has seen and experienced an improvement within teaching and learning at the academy. We are so very grateful for the continued dedication of our staff. Thank you.

That leaves me to conclude and to wish every member of our Strood Academy community all the very best. Enjoy a rest, spend time with friends, family and loved ones and enjoy engaging in hobbies and interests that we usually don’t get time for.

With the warmest Christmas wishes from all at Strood Academy.

Regards
