Principal's Message

Mr Jon Richardson - Principal

Dear Parents/carers,

I hope you’ve all had a restful half term break.

Our pupils have returned to school this week in such a positive light, falling back into the routine and exceeding our high expectations daily.

This week our focus has been on remembrance. We’ve welcomed Flight Left Tennant Jacob Beaney to our academy who has completed assemblies this week. Our pupils have embraced the opportunity to ask further questions and gain a stronger understanding of this.

Today, we held a two minute silence at 11am. We came together as a school community on the 3G pitch where we welcomed a number of Veterans as well as our own cadets to take part in a service. This was an incredibly proud moment for us all as our pupils and staff had a moment to reflect and remember.

It was a pleasure to welcome a number of parents/carers to our Parent Voice Forum last night, we discussed a range of topics and the positivity was quite incredible. Thank you for your attendance. Our next evening will take place on Tuesday 12th December, please do look out for further information.

Next week we are launching our morning parent drop in mornings, a letter has been issued today with full details on. This will enable you to book a 15 minute meeting slot between 9:20-10:20 daily, you can find more information on this including how to book in the Key Information section of the bulletin as well as on our social media platforms.

I also take this moment to thank teachers for their time over the half term period in leading interventions. We had such a positive attendance and pupils have been especially pleased with the additional support prior to their mock examinations.

We also commence mock examinations next week for both Year 11 and Year 13. Information has been shared with pupils and parents in preparation for this.

We’ve had a brilliant first week back to school, thank you for your continued support.

Regards,

Jon Richardson

Principal
