Week Commencing 22/11/24 Module 2 2024-2025
Mr Jon Richardson - Principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope this letter finds you well and in good spirits. As we reach the end of another busy week at Strood Academy, I wish to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks for your continued support and engagement with our school community.
This week has been particularly noteworthy, as we have hosted a review from Challenge Partners for a thorough three-day review process. This team, composed of experienced secondary school leaders from various parts of England as they engaged deeply with our school. Their activities included visiting lessons across multiple subjects, meeting with our pupils, and engaging in dialogue with governors and staff. Their insights and observations were immensely valuable, and I am pleased to report that the feedback we received has been overwhelmingly positive. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire community, and we take great pride in this recognition. We look forward to sharing the full report with you in due course, and I am confident it will highlight the many strengths of our academy.
Our commitment to excellence extends beyond the classroom, especially within our Physical Education department, where we have been actively showcasing our very best. This week, we saw multiple competitive games taking place, allowing our pupils to demonstrate their talents and sportsmanship. I want to take a moment to commend both our pupils for their outstanding performances and our PE team for their unwavering dedication in fostering a supportive and inspiring environment. It is truly heartening to witness our students excel and represent our academy with such pride. Your encouragement at home plays an integral role in their achievements.
As we returned to a full academic schedule following the initial phase of mock examinations for our Year 11 and Year 13 students, it has been immensely rewarding to observe our pupils re-engaging with our assemblies. These gatherings are instrumental in fostering a sense of community and belonging, and it has been uplifting to see our students embracing the focus and spirit of their respective college communities once again. It is in these moments that our values of collaboration and mutual respect shine through, reinforcing our commitment to creating a nurturing learning environment.
Looking ahead, we are set to embark on the final three weeks of the module, marked by a flurry of activities as we approach our Christmas holidays. This period will be filled with opportunities for our students to celebrate their learning experiences, and we encourage them to remain focused and dedicated as we move forward. Together, let us make the most of this time and finish the module on a high note.
Thank you once again for your unwavering support and partnership. It is always a privilege to work alongside you in nurturing the academic and personal growth of our pupils.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Jon Richardson

As we enter the new academic year, we have come together as a community to reflect on all we have achieved so far. This includes:
Introducing and embedding routines for students such as morning line ups and the assembly protocol
Promoting students' extra curricular interests and hobbies through a range of lunchtime and after school clubs and activities
Further improving communication with parents and carers through events such as face-to-face Parents Evenings and Parent Voice Forums
We are immensely proud of the progress we have made so far, and while acknowledging that we are still at the very beginning of our Vision 2028 journey, we are looking forward to the successes we will continue to achieve along the way. We look forward to our second year of Vision 2028 and cannot wait to celebrate all we will achieve.
