Principal's Message
Mr Jon Richardson - Principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks for your continued support this week. Your involvement in our community plays a crucial role in the success of our pupils, and we appreciate everything you do to encourage their academic and personal growth.
As we conclude the week, we celebrate the dedicated efforts of our Year 11 and Year 13 pupils, who have recently completed their mock examinations. This important three-week process has provided our students with invaluable experience in preparing for their forthcoming assessments. They can now look forward to receiving detailed feedback, which will enable them to identify areas for improvement and refine their study strategies. Congratulations to all pupils involved for their hard work, resilience, and commitment to their studies.
This week also saw some remarkable achievements in our sporting activities, showcasing the talent and determination of our pupils. On Monday, our Year 11 football team narrowly missed victory in a closely contested match against the Howard School. Their effort and sportsmanship in representing the academy were commendable, and I would like to applaud each player for their determination and teamwork. Well done to all who participated in this exciting encounter!
Moreover, on Thursday evening, our girls’ football team delivered an outstanding performance, triumphing over Victory Academy with a resounding score of 13-0! This impressive win reflects their dedication to training and the camaraderie they have built as a team. We are incredibly impressed with their skills and teamwork, and we eagerly anticipate watching this team develop further throughout the season and achieve even greater success.
As we approach the midpoint of this module, I would like to inform you about an earlier finish on the last day before the Christmas break. The academy will close on Friday, 20th December, and we will dismiss pupils at 1:30 pm. It is important that all pupils are prepared for this slightly altered schedule. Our first day back in January will be Tuesday, 7th January, with Monday, 6th January, designated as an INSET day for academy staff. We look forward to the fresh opportunities the new term will bring for all our learners.
I would also like to remind you that we are noticing many pupils arriving at school without coats. As temperatures have begun to drop, and with winter weather upon us, we strongly encourage all pupils to wear a coat to ensure they stay warm during their journeys to and from the academy, as well as during break and lunchtime activities. Ensuring that your child is adequately dressed for the weather is crucial for their comfort and well-being.
Please take a moment to explore our social media platforms, where we share daily updates and celebrate the achievements of our pupils. These platforms serve as a vital connection between the academy and home, providing you with insights into the vibrant life of our school community. We hope that the information provided is useful and engages you further with the activities and successes at our academy.
Wishing you all a restful weekend filled with quality time with family and friends. We look forward to welcoming pupils back to the academy on Monday, ready to learn and engage from 8:00 am. Kindly remember that the gates will close at 8:30 am, so please ensure that your child arrives on time to avoid any disruptions to their school day.
Sending best wishes,
Mr Jon Richardson
Principal

As we enter the new academic year, we have come together as a community to reflect on all we have achieved so far. This includes:
Introducing and embedding routines for students such as morning line ups and the assembly protocol
Promoting students' extra curricular interests and hobbies through a range of lunchtime and after school clubs and activities
Further improving communication with parents and carers through events such as face-to-face Parents Evenings and Parent Voice Forums
We are immensely proud of the progress we have made so far, and while acknowledging that we are still at the very beginning of our Vision 2028 journey, we are looking forward to the successes we will continue to achieve along the way. We look forward to our second year of Vision 2028 and cannot wait to celebrate all we will achieve.
