Remembrance Day 2024
On Monday, our entire Strood Academy community joined together for a two minute silence to commemorate Remembrance Day. We welcomed 1400 members of the community in total, including staff, students and members of the Leigh Academies Trust. Our students observed this two minute silence with respect and maturity, and the entire event was remarkable. We would like to thank all involved, including our students. Thank you and well done to you all.
Year 11 Football Success
On Monday, our fantastic Year 11s put on a remarkable performance to outclass Waterfront UTC with a comprehensive 6-0 victory and move into the semi finals where they take on the always strong Howard School!
In front of a star-studded crowd, the boys showcased their Strood core values of grit and resilience to brush aside their opposition. Freddie and Vinnie pulled the strings in a midfield masterclass and Jack was as solid as ever as the no nonsense centre back that everyone needs in their team!
Goal scorers included: Heitor, Jack, Freddie and Josh! A huge well done to you all!
Year 7 Spanish Grammar
Last week, in Spanish, Year 7 looked at the verb tener (to have). In this, they learnt all conjugations of this verb in the present tense and displayed this in beautiful verb tables. Here, you can see some of the fantastic work created by 7v2. Well done to you all, Miss Light is so proud!
Year 10 Hospitality and Catering Cakes
Year 10 Hospitality and Catering students practised the first of 3 cake making methods they learn for their practical skills portfolios. They all independently made a Dutch Apple Cake using the creaming method. The delicious smell of baking apples, cake and cinnamon drifting up to the science department drove the teachers and students' taste buds wild!! Here you can see Jayden (left) and Izzy’s (right) cakes.
