Week 2
Module 4 2025-26
Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to take this opportunity to express my thanks for your continued support.
This week has been exceptionally vibrant at Leigh Academy Strood, filled with a variety of activities and events that have engaged our students in meaningful ways.
Our schedule included STEM activities, outreach programmes, sporting fixtures, dance workshops, community projects, transition sessions, transition tours, and the celebration of World Book Day.
A particular highlight this week was the success of our Year 10 Rugby team, who won the LAT tournament hosted at Strood. It was a proud moment for both the students and the academy, as they demonstrated exemplary sportsmanship and dedication while bringing home the trophy.
Looking ahead, we are excited to welcome our Spanish Exchange pupils to Leigh Academy Strood next week. It is always a pleasure to host such enriching events. We wish our Year 12 pupils the very best as they embark on their work experience placements. Additionally, our Year 11 Citizenship pupils will be travelling to London for a trip to Parliament, and we have other events planned, including the LAT STEM Challenge and a Maths Feast.
Our community is truly full of energy and activities. We are delighted to see our pupils highly engaged in their studies and embracing academy life each day.
Thank you once again for your continued support.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Jon Richardson
Principal

Encourage your child to correct their own work before showing it to you or a teacher.
Seeing and fixing mistakes themselves strengthens thinking and helps learning stick.
Strood Stars is our weekly celebration of students who go above and beyond at Leigh Academy Strood. Each week, awards are given for achievements such as the Principal’s Award, the Head of College Award, and the Highest Reward Points across different year groups.
These awards are a really important part of life at our academy. They recognise students who work hard, show great behaviour, and demonstrate our values of being respectful, resilient, inquisitive, and kind. By celebrating these successes, Strood Stars inspires everyone to aim high and be the very best version of themselves.
It is not just about individual recognition—it helps bring our colleges and whole school community together, creating a positive atmosphere where achievements are noticed and celebrated.
