Week 1
Module 2 2026-2027
Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for your continued support with such an excellent start to Module 2. I hope you all enjoyed a restful half-term break.
It has been a pleasure to visit lessons this week and see pupils so highly engaged. It is also a real privilege to witness how hard they are working and pushing themselves each and every day.
With mocks now underway for our Year 11 and Year 13 pupils and continuing for another two weeks, we know this is a busy time ahead. This week, we have also enjoyed trips, STEM workshops and transition sessions in Humanities.
Next week, we look forward to our Remembrance Service taking place on Wednesday. As usual, this will be held on our astroturf and pupils will be outside for approximately 25-30 minutes in total, so please ensure they have a coat to wear. It is a very special service for our academy community to be part of.
On Thursday, we also have our Sixth Form open evening, which I am confident will be a very positive evening as we anticipate another excellent cohort of Year 12 pupils in September 2027. We look forward to welcoming pupils from 4 pm.
Thank you as always for your continued support.
Sending best wishes,
Mr Jon Richardson
After assessments, focus on effort and progress rather than just grades. Ask your child: "Which question felt easiest, and which topic do we need to revisit next time?"
Strood Stars is our weekly celebration of students who go above and beyond at Leigh Academy Strood. Each week, awards are given for achievements such as the Principal’s Award, the Head of College Award, and the Highest Reward Points across different year groups.
These awards are a really important part of life at our academy. They recognise students who work hard, show great behaviour, and demonstrate our values of being respectful, resilient, inquisitive, and kind. By celebrating these successes, Strood Stars inspires everyone to aim high and be the very best version of themselves.
It is not just about individual recognition—it helps bring our colleges and whole school community together, creating a positive atmosphere where achievements are noticed and celebrated.
