Week 3
Module 3 2025-26
Dear Parents and Carers,
It is a pleasure to share some highlights from an eventful week at Leigh Academy Strood. This week we have held an exceptional Cultural Fashion Show on Wednesday, where pupils from over 20 countries showcased their traditional dress and music, celebrating the diversity within our academy. Additionally, our Year 9 Gateway Event was very well attended, providing valuable insights into the journey ahead for our Year 9 pupils as they approach this crucial time in their education.
This week also featured multiple sporting fixtures, including LAT 5-a-side tournaments and further competitions for our girls’ teams against elite opponents, alongside various netball and basketball matches. It has been a pleasure to witness our pupils excel in these areas on a daily basis. Furthermore, we commenced our outreach events for Year 4, Year 5, and Year 6 in Physical Education, which were well attended and aimed at supporting our transitional processes. Next week, we will hold sessions in Art; please refer to our website for full details.
Looking ahead, we are excited to welcome colleagues from the International Baccalaureate as part of our re-authorisation process, showcasing our curriculum and teaching practices.. On Wednesday, we will also host a group of pupils from our successful partnership with Sevenoaks School as part of our Ambition Programme, which is a privilege for us, and we look forward to providing them with an insightful afternoon.
We wish our Year 11 hospitality pupils the best of luck as they complete their practical assessments next Thursday; we anticipate that the academy will be filled with delightful aromas throughout the day.
As a reminder, should you wish to contact the academy, please use our contact us page on the website and reach out to your child’s college directly. Also, please note that Friday, 13th February, is an INSET day at the academy, meaning the last day of Module 3 will be Thursday, 12th February, with a usual finish time of 3:20pm.
Thank you for your continued support.

Leigh Academy Strood
Strood Stars is our weekly celebration of students who go above and beyond at Leigh Academy Strood. Each week, awards are given for achievements such as the Principal’s Award, the Head of College Award, the Highest Reward Points across different year groups, and the MYP Thinker Award.
These awards are a really important part of life at our academy. They recognise students who work hard, show great behaviour, and demonstrate our values of being respectful, resilient, inquisitive, and kind. By celebrating these successes, Strood Stars inspires everyone to aim high and be the very best version of themselves.
It is not just about individual recognition—it helps bring our colleges and whole school community together, creating a positive atmosphere where achievements are noticed and celebrated.
