Week 6
Module 1 2025-26
Dear Parents and Carers,
Earlier this week, I communicated with all parents to celebrate our recent achievement in receiving the Inclusion Quality Mark. Following an intensive two-day review, we are delighted to have attained this status, which highlights our dedication to inclusive education. Additionally, I am thrilled to announce that we have also been awarded the Centre of Excellence status, further demonstrating our commitment to supportive and inclusive practices within our academy.
This week has once again been exceptionally busy, as we completed a Quality of Education Review conducted by our senior colleagues from Leigh Academies Trust. On Tuesday and Wednesday, we welcomed eight curriculum advisors who observed lessons and engaged in discussions with both pupils and staff. We are pleased to report that we received positive feedback, along with valuable suggestions for further improvements we can refine upon.
Our recent open mornings have also seen tremendous attendance, with large groups of parents and children joining us for academy tours. It is always a pleasure to welcome parents to these events and share the wonderful experiences our academy offers.
In addition, this week has showcased a variety of sporting activities, including handball, netball, and football fixtures. It has been inspiring to hear of our pupils’ successes as they represent our academy with such passion and competitiveness. Please look out for updates on our social media feeds for more details on these achievements.
We look forward to welcoming parents on Tuesday at 6:00 pm for our Parent Forum, which will be our first one of the year. Your participation is highly valued, and we encourage you to join us in discussing important matters pertinent to our academy community.
On Thursday, we are excited to welcome Year 7 parents for the 'Meet the Tutor' evening, commencing at 4:00 pm. Should you have any concerns regarding access to the booking system, please do not hesitate to contact your child's college for assistance.
Lastly, I would like to remind everyone that next week marks our final week of this module before our two-week October break. We will conclude at 3:20 pm on Friday, 17th October, and will commence Module 2 on Monday, 3rd November, with our academy gates reopening at 8:00 am.
Thank you once again for your continued support,
Mr Jon Richardson

Strood Stars is our weekly celebration of students who go above and beyond at Leigh Academy Strood. Each week, awards are given for achievements such as the Principal’s Award, the Head of College Award, the Highest Reward Points across different year groups, and the MYP Thinker Award.
These awards are a really important part of life at our academy. They recognise students who work hard, show great behaviour, and demonstrate our values of being respectful, resilient, inquisitive, and kind. By celebrating these successes, Strood Stars inspires everyone to aim high and be the very best version of themselves.
It is not just about individual recognition—it helps bring our colleges and whole school community together, creating a positive atmosphere where achievements are noticed and celebrated.
