Week 5
Module 1 2025-26
Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you for your continued support.
This week, we have had another busy period welcoming our local community for open morning tours, as well as our open evening yesterday. It was excellent to see our open evening so well attended, and a pleasure to meet all of our new Year 7 pupils who will join us in September 2026. It was also gratifying to witness the impressive turnout of over 200 of our current pupils, who showcased our academy beautifully – a very humbling moment.
Additionally, this week we have enjoyed a variety of extracurricular activities and trip opportunities. Our pupils participated in STEM trips, a Performing Arts trip to Pineapple Studios, and attended assemblies featuring representatives from the University of Kent and KIMS, focusing on future doctors' programmes. Furthermore, we have continued to engage with many sporting fixtures against other local schools.
Looking ahead, next week, we will welcome colleagues from the Leigh Academies Trust for a two-day review. This process will enable us to receive further excellent feedback, allowing us to enhance our provision even more.
Wishing you all a restful weekend.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Jon Richardson

Strood Stars is our weekly celebration of students who go above and beyond at Leigh Academy Strood. Each week, awards are given for achievements such as the Principal’s Award, the Head of College Award, the Highest Reward Points across different year groups, and the MYP Thinker Award.
These awards are a really important part of life at our academy. They recognise students who work hard, show great behaviour, and demonstrate our values of being respectful, resilient, inquisitive, and kind. By celebrating these successes, Strood Stars inspires everyone to aim high and be the very best version of themselves.
It is not just about individual recognition—it helps bring our colleges and whole school community together, creating a positive atmosphere where achievements are noticed and celebrated.
