Week 3
Module 1 2025-26
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to provide you with a summary of the activities and achievements at Strood this past week.
It has been yet another excellent week at Strood. Our morning line-ups have embraced a focus on rewards, fostering a positive attitude among our students. We held assemblies dedicated to anti-bullying, reinforcing the importance of kindness and respect within our school community. Additionally, it was a pleasure to welcome Year 12 and Year 13 parents and carers to our information evening, where we shared insights into the curriculum and upcoming events.
On Wednesday, we had the honour of hosting our Strood Board, who joined us to share our strategic goals for the year. They took the opportunity to visit lessons, which highlights our commitment to collaboration in fostering a supportive learning environment. Our pupils continue to engage actively in clubs and seize further opportunities for development, and it has been delightful to witness our sporting fixtures gaining momentum. With our new mini buses now in operation, we are well-positioned to maximise these opportunities for all students.
Furthermore, we welcomed colleagues from CC Cousins, who are working closely with our Think Forward group of pupils. This initiative aims to support our students in their personal and academic development. We also conducted NGRT reading tests for our new Year 7 cohort, ensuring that we tailor our support effectively for their transition into secondary education.
It has indeed been an incredibly busy week; however, our pupils have once again demonstrated exceptional behaviour and enthusiasm throughout all activities.
Thank you for your continued support in nurturing our school community. Should you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to get in touch via the link below.

Strood Stars is our weekly celebration of students who go above and beyond at Leigh Academy Strood. Each week, awards are given for achievements such as the Principal’s Award, the Head of College Award, the Highest Reward Points across different year groups, and the MYP Thinker Award.
These awards are a really important part of life at our academy. They recognise students who work hard, show great behaviour, and demonstrate our values of being respectful, resilient, inquisitive, and kind. By celebrating these successes, Strood Stars inspires everyone to aim high and be the very best version of themselves.
It is not just about individual recognition—it helps bring our colleges and whole school community together, creating a positive atmosphere where achievements are noticed and celebrated.
