Community Events

SAWIGS hosts community events that are exciting and inclusive, offering a wide variety of activities that cater to all ages. The SAWIG team has hosted three community events recently.

The first event was a beginner birding walk at Clearview Estates trail, where local residents and nature enthusiasts gathered to explore the variety of bird species in the Stratford area. The bird walk was led by the SAWIG team and participants learned about bird identification and how to start becoming a birder.

The second community event was held at Parkdale School and it was all about educating the Charlottetown Boys and Girls Club about pollinators.

The Third community event was held at our community garden, and it was a collaboration with the Cornerstone Baptist Church to clean up and weed the pollinator garden as well as do a litter pickup. SAWIG, the Town of Stratford Environmental sustainability department and the Cornerstone Baptist Church picked up trash at Horton's Park, Robert Cotton Park, and the community garden.

We look forward to hosting and participating in more community events going forwards!
