Gig approval process
In Japan, students take hands-on responsibility for maintaining their schoolsโnot as a punishment, but as a prideful tradition called Souji. It builds respect for surroundings, teaches self-discipline, and proves that everyone plays a vital role in the community.
Sabres Gigs brings that mindset to our halls. This isn't just about doing chores; itโs about stepping up, taking ownership, and proving you have what it takes to manage real-world responsibilities.
Who is it for? Grades 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10
The Requirement: You must complete your required service hours to pass Career & Life Success.
Accountability: Student-owned hour tracking + Supervisor sign-off
The Payoff: Build up self-discipline, commitment and a service mindset
Managing your gig is entirely up to you. Think of it like a real-world side hustle, but instead of cash, you are earning character, community respect, and course credit.
Browse the Job Board: Check out open "gigs" around the school. Roles range from tech support and library organization to campus beautification and event setup.
Apply & Accept: Apply for a gig that fits your schedule and interests. Once approved, youโll report to your assigned Gig Supervisor.
Do the Work: Show up, give 100%, and complete your tasks with pride.
Track & Sign Off: You are responsible for logging your own hours on your tracker sheet. At the end of every shift, your Gig Supervisor must sign off on your work.
In the real world, showing up matters. People are counting on you. Because Sabres Gigs is designed to prepare you for your career beyond school, you will be held to professional standards.
Do it right the first time: Failure to perform your gig properly means the hours won't count, and you'll need to redo the work.
Show up on time: Unexcused absences or repeat tardiness won't just set you backโthey actually add extra required hours to your total before you can pass your Career & Life Success course.
