Substance Use Resources

Rise Above Colorado has been a successful leader in promoting healthy youth behavior and preventing substance misuse since its inception in 2008 as the Colorado Meth Project. Our public awareness work in correcting misperceptions about youth substance use is called Positive Community Norming.  

Supports families impacted by addiction, mobilizing resources for systemic change at the national level. 

Offers engaging toolkits that educate elementary aged children and teens about medication safety principles and equips them with a foundation for understanding how to use medicines safely before they enter their adult years. 

From the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment also provides resources specific to retail marijuana in Colorado, including information about youth prevention.

211 is a confidential and multilingual service connecting people to vital resources across Colorado. Coloradans can find mental health and/or substance use treatment in their community, as well as connect to other social services, such as food, housing and financial assistance.

The DEA has joined forces with Discovery Education to provide no-cost online tools that support every member of the community with the power of prevention. Help kickstart life-saving conversations today with standards-aligned English & Spanish-language resources for students in grades 3-12, plus additional resources designed for educators, families, and professionals.
