The Teacher Role: The librarian’s teaching role involves scaffolding the student into becoming a lifelong reader, keeping students’ interests in mind by providing reading in all formats, and guiding students to read for understanding and pleasure.
The Instructional Partner Role: The teacher librarian is an instructional partner within the school and community, collaborating with administrators, teachers, and students.
The Information Specialist: The librarian, as the information specialist, creates engaging technological lessons, uses technology tools to supplement school resources, and provides around-the-clock access to library services.
Program Administrator: As program administrator, the teacher librarian ensures students and teachers access to a variety of resources, develops a successful school library program, and advocates for support within the community.
